What to send us

The property address, roughly what needs digging, and when you're hoping to have it done. If you have drawings, a survey or a septic plan, say so — it saves a step. If you don't know the scope yet, that's fine; working it out is part of the site walk. Tell us if there's an existing structure coming out, if the lot slopes, or if access is tight, because those three change a quote more than square footage does.

Is your property in the Agricultural Land Reserve?

Tell us early if it is, because what changes is the timeline rather than the price. Moving fill or soil on reserve land needs a Notice of Intent filed with the Agricultural Land Commission, and it has to go in at least 60 days before work starts, with a $150 fee. That is a lead time, not an obstacle — but it only works if we know at the quote stage instead of the week you wanted to break ground.

You do not need to have worked it out yourself. If you are not sure whether your parcel sits inside the reserve, say so and we will check it as part of the site walk. It is a straightforward lookup and it takes us a few minutes.

The same goes for anything else with a waiting period attached. If there is a permit your project needs, or a locate that has to clear first, we would rather find it while we are still working out what the job is than after you have booked a date around us. Most of what delays a dig is not the digging — it is a piece of paper nobody started early enough.
